We are the movement Stroomgebied Zuid-Veluwe

In the South Veluwe Watershed, ecological, cultural, political, and social crises come together. This is why we are building a movement here of people, initiatives, and organizations who are putting down deeper roots together. We are creating a vital watershed, a community-based economy, and a culture of care, for one another and for the place itself. We do this relationally, grounded in shared values, and for the wellbeing of all life. We see this as an antidote to the growing hardening and alienation in our society.

Get to know the region

The Stroomgebied Zuid-Veluwe is an agroecological glacial landscape cultivating a culture of care for land and community. It encompasses the municipalities of Rhenen, Ede, Wageningen, Renkum and the city of Arnhem. The landscape and its culture have been shaped by the glacial moraines and the River Rhine, with their gradients and water flows.

What we do

Together with more than 250 engaged residents and organizations from the watershed, we formulated five lines of action that guide the growth and development of the South Veluwe Watershed. Within these lines of action, we work with our partners and catalysts on projects that translate the philosophy of the watershed into concrete and visible steps.
